Introduction

The Waterford Data Center, is a proposed data center to be built within the Millstone Nuclear Power Plant. If passed, it is planned to be a Data Center focused on AI. There has been debate against the data center from many Waterford and East Lyme residents due to concern about the effects of the data center from noise and light pollution, hiking energy taxes, environmental impacts, to property value. In protest, many residents put anti-data center signs on their lawns, which is what sparked my curiosity about the subject. I asked many people what exactly the signs were about, but everyone I asked about them knew as little as I did. So with my Capstone, I thought it would be a good idea to make an informational website for curious people like me, to know what the data center was all about.
